 1. The image ( https://citinewsroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Richard Ahiagbah.png ) used to represent the headline isn’t accurate. This is because the image doesn’t contain any inscription which can let the news audience know the stance of the interviewee i.e. Richard Ahiagbah although it is written in the headline. My reason for saying this is that, the image used could have been extracted from another interview on which this interviewee i.e. Richard Ahiagbah was present and not a picture taken while Richard Ahiagbah spoke about Akandoh resignation. I think it would have been more catchy if a phrase like “Akandoh must Resign” – Ahiagbah was inscribed on the image.

 2. Richard’s facial expressions shows that he is concerned and although he looks calm, his facial expression suggests focus. It suggests that he knows what he is saying and thinks it is important. Also, how he uses his hands to explain himself shows that he is trying to make a strong point.

 3. The image depicts Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the NPP sharing his thoughts on the topic for discussion. Aside that, nothing from the image showed manipulation or the story being told in one particular direction.

 4. Composition in storytelling adds up to how a story is conveyed. With regards to framing, it is where photographers and filmmakers put their subjects or elements within the frame to guide the audience’s attention to the important scenes. Lighting helps to develop the mood a filmmaker or photographer wants to create and also guides the attention of the audience. Filmmakers and photographers may choose to use either warm soft light or harsh light depending on the mood they want to convey. Focus in storytelling also creates emphasis. Filmmakers use focus to create emphasis on their subjects or elements. Focus is also used to direct attention to important subjects by blurring the other objects or elements which may not be key elements at a point. It is also used to create depth in terms of showing intimacy and emotional state.

 5. The image does show some depth because the subject was put in the foreground while other elements like the wall and the plant were kept in the background. Lighting is also included on his shirt and face to create more focus/emphasis on him

 6. Yes, a different image would have caused the reader to develop a different perception of the news. This is because, if the photographer for instance took a photo or filmmaker used an image of Mr Richard smiling, the headline would have come off as inappropriate and less urgent although there was a sense of urgency in the headline.

 7. In comparison to the image( https://www.myjoyonline.com/wp content/uploads/2024/06/image-527.png ) used by myjoyonline.com, it is evident that Citinewsroom didn’t do a good job with the image they chose to explain their headline. Although their headline depicted a sense of urgency, the image used for representation looked like one of focus instead of urgency. For the image used by the myjoyonline there’s a great level of seriousness and urgency with which the reader or audience will notice at first glance.

 8. The image is politically significant. I say this because the subject, Richard Ahiagbah, is the director for the NPP, which is a major political party in Ghana. Anytime he is seen on TV or heard on radio, audiences will get the notion of politics, and in this interview, he was commenting on another political figure called Akandoh, hence giving a more political structure.
