 Story On GES Closing Nkwanta SHS Following Shooting Of Student Amid Clashes.

The Ghana Education Service(GES)has closed Nkwanta Senior High School in Oti Region due to rising tribal violence that led to tragic shooting of a male student during mock examination.The incident actually happened on Friday June 27,2025.

  On this day, the student were busily having their mock exams including this 18year old boy who was also busily having his exams.Then all of a sudden,a sound was heard on the school's premises which didn't come alone but a stray bullet from an unknown source outside the school's compound killed this little boy who was busily having his mock exams.This was not the first to happen,this incident actually followed another disturbing event where two female students were shot when heading towards school the previous day which is June 26,2025 which made the Ghana Education Service(GES) close Nkwanta Senior High School to safe the lives of the students and stuffs.The acting Regional Director of Education emphasized the need to protect students and stuffs, working closely with security agencies to monitor the situation.The director actually spoke out of sorrow and pains about the loss of lives of the three students and ordered the school to be closed to help protect the lives of the students and stuffs,so they can investigate in the case so that all of this will be put to a stop so that everyone will be saved on the campus of Nkwanta Senior High School and also to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting and prevent further escalation.
